Having your family portraits made is about more than just getting some files to share online – I’ll help you turn your images into pieces of art that will make your heart smile every time you walk past them.
How it Works

Where will our session take place?
All sessions take place on-location – which means that I come to you. Generally we shoot at your home, indoors and out if you’d like, or we can shoot at another location that is meaningful to you. The sky is the limit.
When should I book my newborn session?
Please book your session as soon as possible during your pregnancy to make sure you get a spot!
Generally, when photographing newborns, we want the babies as young as possible, preferably under 10 days. With lifestyle photography, this is a much more lenient rule that we can break when necessary. However, keep in mind that newborns change really fast and shooting within the first 10 days after their birth will ensure we really capture the newborn essence. Newborns are also generally very calm and sleepy during these first days.
Since we don’t usually know the exact date that your baby is planning on making their appearance, I just pencil you into my calendar to know around when to expect you. Once baby is born, you will need to get in touch with me so we can pick out an exact date and time for your session.
What should we wear?
Of course, having your portraits done IS a special occasion, and I know a lot of people would prefer to put together special outfits for the occasion. SO, once your session is booked, expect info about prepping for your session including ideas about what to wear.
What can we expect?
Expect me to arrive with only my camera in hand. Usually, I’ll take a quick look around your home and start coming up with ideas of where I want to shoot, or if our session is outdoors, I arrive a few minutes before you and scout the location. I will also take some time to chat with your little ones so that they can learn to trust me and my camera.
Family sessions are fun, candid and sometimes crazy! Kids get to be KIDS. While I do give a little guidance, I don’t direct the whole shoot. I allow the little ones to lead and I follow. There are very few meltdowns and usually a lot of happy little faces!
When is the best time for a maternity shoot?
Maternity sessions generally take place anytime after 30 weeks, or once you are showing quite obviously! Sessions can take place right up to your due date, so if you are close, get in touch right away!
What is the Styled Baby Session?
Styled Baby Sessions are for families who only want pictures of their baby alone. I will come to your home with everything I need including adorable little outfits and blankets for your little one to use during the shoot. You can expect beautiful, minimalistic images of your little one's first days.
Baby's should be sound asleep for these sessions so they are best for babies under 2 weeks old.
How long have you been doing this?
I started my business back in 2009, so you can rest assured you're in good hands when you hire me to photograph your family!
What if there's bad weather?
If your session is outdoors, we will postpone or relocate to an indoor spot. If your session is indoors, we're good to go!
What if someone gets sick?
I only offer a handful of sessions each month because I love to be able to offer flexibility in my scheduling. If you're sick, or your little ones are sick, rescheduling is not a problem, and it is preferable.
What if my little one is a total monster?
Kids, by nature, are messy and chaotic and real. That is exactly what I want to capture. Don't worry about it.
Your session is not the best time to try to discipline your kids. Just let them have fun, even if it means letting a few things slide! That's why this type of photography is so great!
When will we see our photos?
Within 3 weeks following your session, I'll send you a link to an online gallery to view your slideshow and download your images. If you prefer it, I can travel back to you with your images for viewing in person, and I'll bring along my studio samples so I can help you figure out the best way to display your images in your home.
I'm ready to book, what's next?
Once you are ready to book, I’ll send you the session booking form. You fill it out online and pay the session fee. It shouldn’t take more than a few minutes. Once that’s done – you’re booked!
You’ll get a link to your private client portal where you can keep track of all our emails, contracts, invoices, and where I share info about preparing for your session and the link to your gallery once it’s ready!
I'm not photogenic, should I bother?
Believe me when I say you're not the only one who feels this way. Being infront of the camera can be intimidating, but know that I have been doing this for so long, I really know the best light and angles to use to make everyone look amazing!
Do you have a studio?
No, I am a natural light on-location photographers. I come to your home for the session as I feel this is where everyone is most happy, comfortable and natural.
If you would like to work with me and prefer a studio setting, it can also be arranged, just mention it when you get in touch.
